Contra Costa Times reports “ BART hopes to quell a chorus of noise complaints on its tracks in El Cerrito and Albany this week by smoothing tiny ripples that cause trains to emit a shrieking sound, which can carry for miles.”
BART sent out notices to residents living near the tracks in the Albany and El Cerrito notifying them work will run from Wednesday through Sunday from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m.
El Cerrito residents with questions about the track grinding can call Rocio Batarse at 510-464-6235. Albany residents can call June Garrett at 510-464-6257.
