Rare Tour of Maybeck Houses

Reserve your spot. With only thirty slots available for this rare walking tour of the Maybeck Estates on Purdue Avenue – November 2, from 10 a.m. to noon, participatns will be escorted by Bob Shaner, who will narrate the walk.

Maybeck, an architect of the arts and crafts style, served as a mentor to other architects, including Julia Morgan. Most of his work was done in the first half of the 1900s and the First Church of Christ, built in 1910 in Berkeley is believed to be his finest work. He was also famous for combining various arhcitectural styles in one building, including Mission, Beaux Arts and Craftsman.
