Berkeley’s National Night Out – Let’s celebrate community, the fight against crime, safety and disaster prepardeness with members of the City of Berkeley Police and Fire Departments as well as City of Berkeley staff on Tuesday, August 7.

El Cerrito and Kensington National Night Out El Cerrito’s Night Out provides a unique opportunity for El Cerrito residents to connect with the Police Department and each other to learn about safety and crime prevention. El Cerrito’s Night Out program has won a national award for the past seven years (2004-2010). Last year, El Cerrito had 31 block parties with an estimated 1,200 participants, while Kensington had 17 or 18 hosts. Both communities hope to see an increase this year.

Richmond and Pinole National Night Out The evening opens with a community kickoff in the parking lot of the Target Store at 4500 Macdonald Ave., where there will be food, entertainment, information booths, speakers and activities from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
From 6 to 8:30 p.m. a caravan of police, fire, elected officials and civic leaders will travel to individual block parties at neighborhoods around the city.
An end party hosted by Richmond Main Street Initiative starts at 8:30 p.m. at the Community Green Space at Harbour Way and Macdonald Avenue.

Albany Preschool Spring Fair

Families and children are invited to meet the Spring Bunny and enjoy the annual egg hunt. Bunny arrives at 10 am on an Albany fire truck to kick off the festivities. Take a photo with the bunny. Enjoy games and prizes, crafts, food, bake sale, and live music.

Rain or Shine the Spring Fair will go on! In case of rain, the alternative location will be Ocean View Elementary’s Multi-Purpose Room at 1000 Jackson Street off of Buchanan.
