Bay Area homes sales edged up from a seven-month run of record lows last month, indicating that mortgage availability is improving and that an increasing number of fence sitters have decided they like today’s lower prices, a real estate service reported. (DataQuick)

California April 2008 Home Sales
A total of 31,150 new and resale houses and condos were sold statewide last month. That was up 26.8 percent from 24,565 in March and down 10.9 percent from 34,949 from April last year…itwas the first month since August of last year that wasn’t a recored low in DataQuick’s statistics going back to 1988.
