The school board of the West Contra Costa School District voted June 20 to rescind an April 4 decision to relocate Portola Middle School to Fairmont Elementary, a school in El Cerrito, CA, that has been in its current location for more than 100 years. The WCCUSD board has promised to restart the process to find a new site for the middle school and plans to establish criteria for the ideal location in an open and transparent manner.
