Parkway Speakeasy is closing. Oakland will lose one of its cultural icons Sunday when the Parkway Speakeasy Theater closes its doors after 12 years in business.
owners Kyle and Catherine Fischer announced that the theater, known for its eclectic lineup of entertainment that ran the gamut from movies to lesbian fashion shows, would close at the end of the business day Sunday.
“We, at the Parkway Speakeasy Theater, are deeply proud of the Parkway and will profoundly miss serving its community.” the message said. “Thank you for your patronage.”
