(Bay Area Rapid Transit)
BART serves Alameda and Contra Costa counties, San Francisco and a portion of San Mateo County. It operates weekdays, 4 a.m. to after midnight; Saturday, 6 a.m. to after midnight; Sunday 8 a.m. to after midnight. Riders must get to a station by midnight to ensure they'll reach their destination.

Richmond Ferry The ferry travels between Richmond and San Francisco four times every weekday, twice a day on weekends. The fare is $5 for adults, $2.50 for ages 5-11. Red and White Fleet also runs a ferry from Richmond to Pacific Bell Park for Giants games on weekend afternoons; the round-trip cost is $10. AC Transit (Alameda - Contra Costa Transit) serves Berkeley, Albanyu, El Cerrito, Richmond and San Pablo. Buses run seven days a week, the earliest being in Oakland, 4 a.m. to the latest (also in Oakland) midnight.

County Connection
Wheels is a service of the LIvermore Amador Valley Transit Authority and provides public transportation for the Tri-Valley communities of Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton.

Westcat (Western Contra Costa Transit Authority) serves Port Costa, Crockett, Rodeo, Hercules and Pinole 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., weekdays; 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekends. The Martinez Link, 30-Z, connects to county offices and hospitals in Martinez. WestCAT also runs BART Express buses. The J-line runs seven days a week all day from El Cerrito Del Norte BART to the Park-n-Ride lot in Hercules. Two other lines are weekday commute hours only: from Del Norte to Pinole Valley High, and from Del Norte to Hercules. (510) 724-7993

Golden Gate Transit
Serves Marin and Sonama commuters with buses, ferries and the Golden Gate Bridge. East Bay residents can catch a Golden Gate bus at the El Cerrito Del Norte BART station for a ride to Marin County or Sonoma County seven days a week. Amtrack stations for Contra Costa County are located in Martinez and Richmond; Emeryville and Oakland in alameda County. There is an Amtraak stop, but not a station in Berkeley which means that riders boarding at Berkeley should buy tickets in advance from a travel agent.
Amtrack's Capitols service links the East Bay to Sacramento seven days a week. The Capitol Corridor service is provided in partnership with Amrtak, Caltrans and the Capitol Corridor Joint Power Board. Amtrak connects to BART directly in Richmond and via public transportation in Emeryville, Oakland and Martinez.

Web site: www.amtrak.com ACE Rail Altamont Commuter Express commuter service from Stockton to San Jose through Pleasanton in the AM and reverse direction in the PM. Trains run weekdays only. The Pleasanton station is located at 4950 Pleasanton Avenue across from the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Parking for ACE drivers is free and available on first-come, first-served.
